After Good Moms Have Scary Thoughts, this author wrote a follow-up book about how partnerships can be challenged and strained with the addition of a baby.
Again, this one hit close to home. Although my husband and I weathered the early tumultuous years of raising our children with our relationship intact, I know I had similar thoughts and we had similar arguments as the parents depicted in this book every now and then. Like I mentioned with Good Moms, who knows what difference this book might have made for us back when we were in the thick of postpartum struggles?
What About Us? validates the many feelings partners can experience when a newborn comes between them. It acknowledges the shock that parenthood can have on the relationship and explores how this relationship can evolve and strengthen with compassion, communication, and counseling.
